Founded in 1996 by Alexander Pohl, now Managing Director, the firm operates as AAA Strategie Beratung & Interim Management GmbH, serving German Mittelstand and family-owned, mid-sized companies with international operations. For nearly three decades, the company has supported boards and executive teams in navigating critical transformation phases, organizational change, and technology-driven initiatives.
Originally established as uniware consulting GmbH, the firm evolved following the dot-com crisis into 3A-Strategy Global Advisory GmbH, sharpening its focus on complex transformation topics, offshoring programs, and strategic initiatives in established technology domains.
3A Strategy operates today as an investment vehicle, supporting startups in established domains where Alexander has deep experience and long-standing expertise.
Proven Experience Across Economic Cycles
The firm’s early years were shaped by close collaboration with IBM and enterprise clients in technology integration, security, and collaboration platforms. Clients included major industrial and consumer brands such as Continental, France Telecom, Manufactum, Swiss Telecom, Tchibo and Vodafone.
The collapse of the internet bubble marked a decisive inflection point. The firm successfully repositioned itself, advising international organizations on large-scale offshoring of engineering and software development capabilities – building resilience and relevance in times of disruption. Clients included, among others, Aastra, Avaya, Funkwerk, Merck and Tenovis.
From Advisory to Execution Accountability
In 2006, practical execution capability was further strengthened through the development of a proprietary Controlling Cockpit, enabling management transparency across costs and performance. This solution was deployed in industrial and technology-driven organizations, including CeramTec, EOS, Seachefs and XING in Hamburg, as well Gildemeister (Deckel Maho – today DMG Mori).
Since 2012, the firm has consistently focused on interim executive and program leadership roles, supporting large enterprises through complex initiatives. From 2019 onward, the emphasis has shifted toward mid-sized corporate groups, where board-level oversight, execution discipline, and hands-on leadership are critical to success.
